Our Variety of Turfs

At Tropical Lawns, we know that not all turf varieties are created equal. That’s why we grow eight different types of turf grasses, all of which have been meticulously selected to suit various applications. From homes to commercial operations, we have the suitable turf for the job. And because we’re based in Cairns, we know a thing or two about tropical turf! All of our turf varieties have been extensively tested in our climate to ensure they’re up to the task.

Any of these varieties have been developed for specific uses, and some are protected by plant variety rights to preserve their integrity, that is, to be certain that they are grown by professionals who will maintain the purity of strain and present them to clients in a weed- and pest-free state.

Thoroughly Tested Turf Varieties

At Tropical Lawns, we only ever use the best turf varieties that have been extensively tested in our tropical climate. This ensures they are ideally suited to the job at hand and thrive in the Cairns region. Additionally, our methods of keeping turf fresh and reducing composting in the pallets have been perfected to give our products the best chance of survival.

For example, we know that turf harvested at high temperatures—above 25 degrees—will start to compost quickly. To combat this, we reduce the time from harvest to delivery and laying to the absolute minimum. In some cases, turf needs to be road or barge transported for three days to remote areas. For these situations, we have developed special packing requirements that minimise risk and ensure the turf arrives fresh and healthy.

When you choose Tropical Lawns, you can be confident you’re getting the best turf on the market.
